Using Analog Hearing Aids Published on Friday, 05 March 2010 With the advent of new technology everywhere, digital technology, in particular, has affected a lot of fields and industries, including the making of hearing aids as well. Many people think that digital hearing aids automatically trump their analog counterparts. Truth is, all in all, digital hearing aids can truly be considered to be better than analog ones. However, the main disadvantage it has is the price, which, to be fair, covers a lot of features that other older hearing aids do not have. The thing is though, is that not all hearing aid users need these additional features. This is where the analog hearing aid comes in. Compared to the digital version, results of the use of analog so far have no indication that the difference between the two's audio quality, if there is any at all. Usually, these standard analog hearing aids are much, much cheaper, and are of good quality, so for a barebones user who only wants to hear better, an analog hearing aid would be the best decision. Much of the features on hearing aids are too small and too limited to appreciate, which only adds to the discouragement of many who pay the high price for digital hearing aids.
