hearing impairment. Hearing loss is determined according to the degree, type,
and configuration of the hearing loss. Here are the different types of hearing
loss: Conductive Hearing Loss It is a type of hearing loss where the sound has a problem
in passing through the ear canal. This is a type of hearing loss where faint
sounds are hard to hear. Progressive Hearing Loss A person may not be aware at first that he has a problem
with his hearing until over time. This type of hearing loss usually changes
from becoming worse to getting better and vice versa. If it worsens, the doctor
would recommend a cochlear hearing aid implant. Sensorineural Hearing Loss This is a type of hearing loss cannot be corrected using
surgery because both the inner ear and its nerve pathways are damage. However,
the patient can use any type of hearing aid to restore his hearing loss. Not all people who have hearing problems could hear with
the use of hearing aids, however, they could somehow help in improving their
daily activities in life.
