Differentiating Conventional and Programmable Analog Hearing Aids
Published on Friday, 07 May 2010

Despite the rise of digital hearing aids, analog ones are still used by a number of people these days. Aside from basic needs, analog aids are obviously cheaper than the more sophisticated and modern counterpart.

Basically, there are two types of analog hearing aid. One is the conventional and the other is the programmable. The conventional hearing aid is nothing but a basic hearing aid. On the other hand, the latter is way similar than that of a digital hearing aid. It contains a microchip that can be programmed depending on the settings required by the users.

Most of the time, the conventional hearing aid is used by people who simply wishes to improve their sense of hearing. However, for people who settle in different kinds of environments, the other option is better. Since programmable hearing aids can be customized, it can be used in either a quiet or noisy surroundings with great efficiency. Plus, this kind of hearing aid, despite being a little complicated than the other one, is very easy to use.

In the end, the two types of analog hearing aids can very well support two different sets of people who have their sense of hearing impaired. In cases that you do not know which one to use, it is best for you to consult a professional for the matter.
